I’ve sometimes dropped off 5 books of various genres to the local 'Little Free Library' and the next day they are all gone! Every single time! Were they really taken by a reader, or someone who re-sells them?
I think the Little Free Library makes a lot of sense for children’s books, but what are the odds that a true fan of my type of book will find it?
Yes, I’ve donated to the public library, but if they have that book already on the shelf, does it really help?
I like the idea of finding new homes for some of my books, but I don’t need unknown people from Facebook coming to my house.
I buy a lot of books. Swapping them "for a cup of coffee" or a small pastry seems like a bargain to the next owner.
The trade could lead to regular meetings for book discussions and future exchanges.
The whole concept seems like it could be fun.
Maybe I can sell some ads to help me pay for the server space I'm renting!
P.S. - I'm giving the idea six months to see if it works...
